Dr. Yingwu Li is an Assistant Professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2024 from Imperial College London, where he was supervised by Prof. Zahra Sharif Khodaei and worked within the renowned Structural Integrity and Health Monitoring research group. During his doctoral studies, he was awarded the prestigious Imperial College President’s PhD Scholarship (granted to only 50 students worldwide each year). After graduation, he was selected for a national-level young talent program in China.

His research interests lie in optical fiber sensing, intelligent perception, structural health monitoring for aerospace structures,digitial twin, and AI. To date, he has been granted more than ten patents and has published multiple papers in leading international journals. He also serves as a member of the IEEE IES Technical Committee on MEMS and Nanotechnology.
